Don’t miss out on the amazing nature scenery, exceptional restaurants and fascinating museums. On this page we’ll share some of the things that we recommend experiencing.

Eldheimar museum

The Eldheimar exhibition focuses on the 1973 volcanic eruption in Vestmannaeyjar, without a doubt one of Iceland’s biggest natural disasters. Visitors get a glimpse into peoples lives on Heimaey before the eruption that would change their lives forever.

Swimming pool Vestmannaeyja

Experience the local culture of visiting the swimming pool, which is warm all year round. With inside and outside pools, water slides, jacuzzi and a children’s pool, it’s considered one of the best swimming pools in Iceland.

Vestmannaeyjar Golf Club was founded in 1938, making it the third oldest golf club in the country. A magnificent 18-hole course in the midst of the beautiful nature of Vestmannaeyjar.

Outside area with a playground for kids, by the harbor. New and exciting area which will be finalized in 2023.

To most Icelanders the sport traditionally characterizing the islands is “sprang”, a miniature version of cliff rappelling, now mainly practiced at Skiphellar, not far from the harbor.
